Objective: To study the personality characteristics of adult male prisoners. Methods: 342 adult male prisoners were assessed by the California Psychological Inventory Revised in China (CPI-RC). Results: The theft group and the violence group scored significantly lower than the control group on all subscales and the V3 level, indicating markedly different personality types. Conclusion: In expert testimony and criminal correction, it would be important to pay attention to personality characteristics of criminals.
