Objective: To develop Work Value Scale for Government Employees and conduct the relative psychometric examination. Methods: Based on the literatures and interviews, the scale was constructed. The reliability was examined by test-retest coefficients and Cronbach ’ s α coefficients. The construct validity and criterion-related validity were also ex amined. Results: The Cronbach ’ s α coefficient of the full scale was 0.879; meanwhile, the Cronbach ’ s α coefficients of the sub-scales were 0.917 and 0.813; the test-retest reliability after two weeks was 0.848. Three and five factors were withdrawn from the two sub-scale respectively; the scale could also distinguish the work values of government employees between different genders, ages, positions and education levels. Conclusion: The reliability and validation of Work Value Scale for Government Employees meet the standards of Psychometrics.
