Objective: To explore the effect of "motivational enhancement integrate cognitive behavioral" group psychotherapy for Amphetamine-Type Stimulants(ATS) female users. Methods: 60 ATS female users from Shanghai forced isolation rehab were randomly divided into intervention group(30 subjects) and control group(30 subjects). The intervention group received 16 weeks group psychotherapy and regular education, while the control group only accepted regular education. The self-designed questionnaires, drugs history, Self-rating depression scale(SDS), Self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) and Skill Questionnaire were tested at baseline, 8 weeks and,16 weeks later. Results: Before the intervention, no significant differences were found as to the demographic data and drugs history, depression, anxiety and skill scores between the two groups. After the intervention, the repeated measures analysis of variance showed that a significant group*time interactive effect(P<0.05). Simple tests further demonstrated that intervention group had a significantly lower depression scores and higher skill scores than the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: "motivation+cognitive-behavioral" group therapy can improve mood disorders and has positive effect for relapse prevention skills.
