The internal relationship between components of inhibitory control is the core puzzle in this field. Based on current cogntive neuroscience and clinical studies, this review proposes that there is a mutual-restrict relationship among attention inhibition, cognitive inhibition, and behavior inhibition. In this relationship, attention inhibition plays a more ba-sic role, and cognitive inhibition may moderate the other functions. Further research could be designed to refer these find-ings, such as controlling the inference of other components in the experiment tasks and considering the components'rele-vance in the research method. In addition, the components'differences in development should also be considered.
