Objective: To explore profiles of mobile phone addiction symptom and test whether college students'inter-personal relationship and loneliness differed in terms of the mobile phone addiction profiles. Methods: Latent profile and ANOVA were employed to probe types of mobile phone addiction in 457 college students and to investigate characteristics of different profiles of mobile phone addiction symptom and their relationship with interpersonal relationship and loneli-ness. Results: Firstly, a 3-profile mobile phone addiction solution provided the best fit to the data; the profiles were charac-terized as serious addiction symptom, moderate addiction symptom, and no addiction symptom. Secondly, there were signifi-cant differences of interpersonal relationship and loneliness among different profiles of mobile phone addiction(P <0.01). Conclusion: Mobile phone addiction can be classified into three different types; different types of mobile phone addiction have significant influence on interpersonal relationship and loneliness.
