Objective: To observe the effect of the new group counseling on improving self -confidence of college students. Methods: 60 students were recruited voluntarily. The centralized and closed group counseling was arranged for 20 hours, which is a close in, continuous, much dosage and many people’ group therapy. Self-confidence scale (SCS) was adopted to assess the results before and after counseling. Results: The scores of SCS were separately 21.38 ±5.44 and 23.55±5.30. There was a significant difference of SCS scores reduction compared to the foregone counseling (t=3.82, P< 0.05). Significant difference of the score (above 25 scores) was not found. Conclusion: The centralized and closed group counseling can improve the self-confidence of college students.
