Objective: To develop a questionnaire on counselors’ job self-efficacy. Methods: A questionnaire on counselors’ job self-efficacy was developed based on theoretical analysis, profound interviews, core-task analysis and questionnaire survey. Results: Exploratory factor analysis of the items indicated that the questionnaire consisted of four factors: organization and guidance, ideological education, resource coordination, and self-efficacy of emotional adjustment, which explained 54.92% of the total variance. The Cronbach’ s α coefficient of the whole questionnaire was 0.92, 0.93 in male sample and 0.91 in female sample respectively. In the confirmatory factor analysis of the four factor model, fit statistics (RMSEA=0.066, NFI=0.96, NNFI=0.97, CFI=0.97, GFI=0.88) for the model well explained the observed relationship. The psychological structure of the four factor model in different groups of sex was identical. The four dimensions and the total scale had significantly positive correlations with GSES. Conclusion: The results indicate the questionnaire on counselors’ job self-efficacy with eligible psychometric quality is applicable to measuring counselors’ job self-efficacy and conducting comparison within different groups.
