Objective To study mental health condition of elderly and young adult patients suffering from cancer.Methods The SCL-90,SAS,SDS and UCLA Loneliness Scale were administered to 126 elderly patients and 96 young patients.Results The elderly patients with cancer showed more Loneliness and Paranoid symptoms than the young adult patients.The young adult patients showed more phobia,anxiety,and depression symptoms.Conclusion Caner patients of different ages suffered from different mental symptoms and they should be treated differently.
