Objective:To explore effects of family environment on adaptability of freshmen.Methods:556 freshmen in three medical colleges were asked to fill out the General Information Questionnaire,Adaptability Questionnaire and Family Environment Scale (Chinese version).Results:Low positive correlation was obtained between cohesion,active-recreational orientation,achievement orientation,intellectual-cultural orientation,organization and adaptability.Negative correlations were found between conflict,control and adaptability.Multiple regressions showed that conflict,organization,active-recreational orientation,control,and sex bore significant relationship with adaptability of freshmen.Conclusion:Family factors play significant roles in influencing the adaptability of freshmen.
