Objective:To investigate students' mental health status and related influencing factors.Methods:4006 students in school were assessed with Hundred Items Psychological Symptom Inventory(PSI-100). Education, household type,and economic status were also measured.Results:21.3% of students had different degrees of psychological disorders, in which mild 14.9%, middle 4.5%, severe 1.9%; The mental symptoms such as depressive, anxious, compulsive-obsessive, at tention, and impulsive(8~10%) were more common than personality conduct, neurotic sensitive and psychotic symptoms(2.7~3.9%); There was no significantly differences between male and female students on the general health status. The male students had more behavioral problem than female students, while female students had more emotional problem than male students; was poorer Health status and more emotion problems presented for the students in the single, divorced or remar ried family and poor family; pupils' mental health was in the best, university students in middle, and high school students in the worst.Conclusion:21.3% students have mental disorders and academic pressure. Household type and economic sta tus have different effects on students' mental health status.
